Over the Blandford St Mary. Unfortunately the wind was gusty so many of the pictures had a motion blur and I’ve deleted them.

I’ve decided to give new life for Canon A200 camera. I used it to KAP - kite aerial photography.
Here is the first attempt. Of couse that is low budget project (except kite £37, still not too bad for me, but not for my wife ;-)), and it was try rather than professional taken pictures.
The place and time: Poole, Sandbanks 2008.04.06 ~7pm.
The equipment: Power Sleed 24 kite from Premier Kites (£37), Canon camera A200 (£11 from ebay) + Copact Flash 512Mb Kingston (£7), plus hand made picavet suspension (2h work in the garage ;-)).
Because I haven’t got any fancy remote control, the camera shutter was set to “continuous mode” and shutter button was pressed and locked. With that solution camera is taking pictures every 2-3 sec. (depend of resolution and compression) and for 512Mb on CF I’m able store about 800 pictures (800×2.5sec=~30min.). So effectively I have 30 minutes of time, after that I have to get back kite, move pictures to PPC and camera is ready for next fly.
I had 500ft rope which is about 150m, but the camera flown effectively about 100m. I had to left some rope on the ground ~10m (for security reasons) and the camera was attached about ~20-30m under kite.
There was almost no wind ~1B, but about 20-30 m below the beach wind was quite stable ~2B and the kite generated huge pull with that wind, so was absolutely no problems with taking off the camera into the air.

I’ve decided to move all content from my custom crap php scripting engine to Wordpress. I asked myself question “Why I’m trying to re-invent the wheel?” if there’s already great system, fully configurable and elegant. This weekend I’ll start moving stuff from old system to new.

Kiteboarding in Poole Baiters Park 2008.02.23. There was my second time on landboard with the kite 9m Flexilfoil Strom 3. Wind was stable, so excellent conditions for learning. That afternoon was couple of people on landboards with kites, unfortunately my style is sucks :->. Anyway that was great, and I spent solid 6h with the kite. Cheers.
